Rep. Lee Announces Her Office Has Cleared 2,000 Casework Requests Resolved

PITTSBURGH, PA — Today, Rep. Lee announced that her office had resolved over 2000 casework cases today. Rep. Lee’s team has helped folks with folks needing help dealing with Social Security, Veterans’ Affairs, Medicare, Medicaid, the Internal Revenue Service, passports, help with immigration services, and more.

“I came to Congress to represent the communities throughout Western Pennsylvania who have for too long been forgotten and left behind. This means fighting for an agenda that stands up to lobbyists and special interests, but it also means that our constituents are able to access the benefits and help that they need” said Rep. Summer Lee (PA-12). “My office is committed to ensuring that folks in our community have support in their inquiries with the state and federal government–and that has meant thousands of dollars recouped from the IRS, folks gaining access to their Medicare and Social Security benefits, folks have help navigating our complex immigration system, and even expediting requests for passports. If you need any help dealing with a federal agency, my office is here for you.”

Many constituents have also praised Rep. Lee’s casework team for helping them navigate the complex federal agency landscape.

  • “After months of battling bureaucratic nightmares with Social Security and feeling helpless, my outreach to Summer’s team became the light at the end of a very dark tunnel. Not only was their response swift, sincere, and meticulously detailed, but they also resolved my spousal benefits issue more speedily than anyone at SS even thought was possible. I’m not just a case number to them – I felt seen, heard, and genuinely cared for. Their work was not just a service but a lifeline, turning a desperate situation into an experience that I’ll share with anyone who’ll listen. Summer and her team were a beacon of hope in a sea of governmental chaos, and I am beyond grateful and eager to advocate for them in every possible way, ensuring everyone knows where to turn when they, too, feel lost.” – Elaine Beck, Squirrel Hill.
  • “Amidst the shadow of a Stage 4 cancer diagnosis and hearing a relentless stream of ‘no’s’ from every direction, Summer Lee and her team really came through as a HUGE unexpected ‘yes’ for me and my family when we didn’t know where to turn. Her team showed up BIG TIME, proving that even among larger issues, they truly gave, pardon my words, ‘two craps’ about a regular guy in Pittsburgh. Summer’s team made sure we received all four passports, even when the odds and the agencies said it was impossible. I just didn’t think it worked that way, but they are clearly doing things differently. You know, it’s not Summer’s fault I have cancer, but they took the extra steps to make sure I could be there at Niagara Falls with my family. I’m not just grateful but I’m floored by how Summer and her team cared enough to turn our seemingly bleak situation into a story of success and I’m even more grateful to have had that time with my family.” – Robert Kuchta, West Mifflin.
  • “After three tough years of going round in circles with the IRS, I found a real-life superhero team in Summer Lee and her staff. I was at my wit’s end, fed up with waiting and getting nowhere. So, I took a chance and reached out to Summer’s team, and wow—what a difference that made! In just one month, Summer’s team did what seemed impossible. They listened, they cared, they always kept me in the loop, and most importantly, they really got things done! It wasn’t just about getting my money and fixing a tax mess at no fault of my own, it was about being heard and helped in a system that felt so defeating. Finally, after reaching out to her team, I felt like I wasn’t completely lost in the shuffle, and that meant the world to me. I am absolutely amazed by Team Summer Lee!” – Carol Kelly, Westwood
  • “When I reached out to Summer Lee and her team, I was feeling pretty apprehensive and hopeless. I didn’t expect much because no one else was able to help or seemed to care about the problems I was facing with my benefits, but from the moment I contacted Summer Lee’s office I knew real help was on the way. They didn’t just listen to my story, they actually heard me. They really cared! They went so far above and beyond for me that I hardly have words for it. In just one week, they did what others couldn’t manage to do in months.” Even after the fact when Summer’s team told me to always reach out if I needed help again, I knew it wasn’t just talk—I felt it, right in my heart. I even started to cry because, for the first time in a long time I felt seen, I felt heard and most importantly, I felt genuine care from her team and the real desire to help me out when I needed it most. I appreciate Summer Lee and her entire team from the bottom of my heart. They are out here really getting things done!” – Doriane Collins, Homewood
  • “I want to share my heartfelt gratitude to Summer Lee’s team for their exceptional support with my grandma’s situation. Living alone, my grandma faces challenges with elderly aging health issues and the risks of agreeing to things without understanding. I had to step in, but we hit roadblocks with unreasonable requests. That’s when Summer Lee’s team made a world of difference. They not only completely heard me out, but they immediately took action. They were there every step of the way, always answering the phone anytime it rang and ensured my grandma wasn’t left alone and vulnerable. Their dedication honestly made them feel like extended family to us. This was my first experience seeking out help like this, and I couldn’t be happier for reaching out to them. Their responsiveness, humanity, and willingness to go the extra mile for my Grandma truly set them apart. Summer Lee’s team not only heard me but provided the much-needed help right when we needed it most. They are proof of what compassionate and effective support looks like.” – Billy Cain, Homewood

Since taking office in January, Lee, who serves on the House Oversight Committee and Space, Science and Technology Committee, has delivered historic levels of federal investment totaling over $1.2 Billion brought back to Western PA, including over $200 million for infrastructure, over $50 million for affordable transit, and over $500 million to keep clean energy manufacturing at home in Pennsylvania. These investments will help improve Western Pennsylvania’s infrastructure and transit, ensure cleaner air and drinking water, lower housing costs, fund research institutions, fuel clean manufacturing, fund STEM innovation and entrepreneurship, boost workforce development, and create thousands of good paying union jobs.  Lee and her team have also delivered casework and constituent services to over 2,000 constituents with issues ranging from helping our seniors and disabled community access Medicare and social security to helping folks secure housing and helping families with immigration support and passports.
