Summer Lee Condemns Antisemitic Property Damage in Frick Park, Calls on Community to Come Together to Heal
Lee calls incident “unacceptable and wrong,” pledges to continue work to combat antisemitism
(Washington, DC) – Today, after reports of antisemitic property damage in Pittsburgh’s Frick Park, Rep. Summer Lee released the following statement after meeting with community in the neighborhood as well as city officials discussing action to stop these unacceptable incidences of antisemitic vandalism ensure all constituents feel safe and protected:
“The vandalism and antisemitic targeting of a Jewish community member’s property in Frick Park as we commemorate 5 years since the Pittsburgh Synagogue Shooting is completely unacceptable and wrong. I condemn these actions in the strongest possible terms. I will continue doing everything in my power to fight back against hate and ensure our Jewish community feels safe and protected” said Rep. Summer Lee (PA-12).
Lee continued, “In the five years since the horrific Pittsburgh Synagogue Shooting, our Pittsburgh community has shown how we can come together to combat antisemitism. These disgusting views do not represent the views of the Pittsburgh communities, and only damage any calls to peace. Now, it is more important than ever, to stand shoulder-to-shoulder with our Jewish communities and fight against white supremacy and antisemitism in all of its forms.”
