Rep. Summer Lee Celebrates Opening of New Mind-Body-Spirit Multi-Purpose Facility at Veterans Place to Support Homeless Veterans
Pittsburgh, PA – On Veterans Day, Congresswoman Summer Lee (PA-12) joined Veterans Place and community partners to celebrate the opening of a new Mind-Body-Spirit multi-purpose facility dedicated to supporting homeless veterans in Pittsburgh. This state-of-the-art facility offers comprehensive, wrap-around services in a single location, making it easier for veterans to access housing, healthcare, and wellness programs as they work toward stability and independence.
Rep. Lee, alongside local officials, Veterans Place leadership, and partner organizations, emphasized the critical need for facilities like this one, which directly address the unique challenges veterans face upon returning to civilian life. This new facility includes eight single-occupancy apartments, a wellness center equipped with commercial-grade exercise equipment, and on-site healthcare services in partnership with Allegheny Health Network (AHN). Importantly, these services are accessible to all veterans, including those ineligible for VA healthcare, ensuring that no veteran is left without care.
“Every veteran deserves not only our gratitude but real, tangible support,” said Congresswoman Summer Lee (PA-12). “Veterans Place has created a space that doesn’t just meet the basic needs of our veterans but uplifts them through health, stability, and community. Together, we are giving veterans the safe housing, healthcare, and respect they have more than earned.”
The Veterans Day event included a flag ceremony honoring veterans and recognized the contributions of public and private funders who helped bring this facility to life. The facility represents a collaborative effort, with support from local businesses, community organizations, and healthcare providers dedicated to ensuring that veterans in Pittsburgh have access to the resources needed to lead stable, healthy lives.
Background on the Facility and Its Impact:

- Enhance Health and Wellness: A fully equipped wellness center and AHN’s on-site healthcare services allow veterans to focus on their physical and mental well-being.
