DIGITAL / PRESS ASSISTANT

The Office of Congresswoman Summer Lee (PA-12) is seeking a full-time, exempt Digital/Press Assistant based in Washington, D.C. who will play a key role in shaping the Member’s communications strategy, social media presence, and digital outreach. The Digital/Press Assistant will report to the Communications Director and work closely with the Senior Press Secretary.

This position requires a comprehensive understanding of social media platforms and latest trends, experience in graphic design, photography, and video editing, attention to detail, strong written and oral communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced team environment.

JOB DUTIES

  • Work with the communications team to develop and implement the office’s digital and social media strategy
  • Create and manage consistent stream of digital content, including social copy, branded graphics, and videos to highlight the Member’s work
  • Help staff meetings and events by taking photos and videos of the Member
  • Clip TV appearances, floor speeches, and other video content for social media
  • Draft scripts, film and edit videos for social media
  • Assist with drafting newsletters, press releases, talking points, op-eds, memos, and other written materials
  • Maintain and update press lists, website, and various digital archives
  • Monitor news outlets and social media
  • Compile press clips to distribute to Member and office staff
